Pick 9:16 and nothing gets cropped. The video effects here place your frame in the middle of a 1080 × 1920 canvas and fill the rest with a blurred, darkened copy of the same picture. A live preview shows each change while the clip plays.
What the sliders can reach
- Brightness and contrast: 30% to 200%.
- Saturation: 0% to 250%.
- Black and white and sepia: 0% to 100%.
- Hue: 0° to 360°.
- Speed: 0.25x, 0.5x, 0.75x, 1x, 1.25x, 1.5x, 2x and 4x.
Rotation moves in steps of 90°. Flip works on both axes. A mute switch removes the audio track from the export.
Settings in the order that works
- Drop a video on the page or press Select video. The preview shows the first frame.
- Set the format first: keep original, 9:16, 1:1, 16:9 or 4:5. Then fix the orientation with Rotate +90° and the two flip buttons.
- Move the colour sliders and press Play to judge the look on moving pictures. Reset filters returns every control to its start value, including format, speed, rotation and mute.
- Choose a speed and, if the file should be silent, switch on Mute audio track.
- Press Export video with effects. The clip plays from the start while it is recorded, then the browser saves
yourfile_effects.webm. Browsers that record MP4, such as Safari, save.mp4.
What the export does to your timing and your pixels
The tool always exports the whole video. There is no trim, so cut first with the video trimmer if you need less. Export runs in real time and follows the chosen speed. A 2-minute clip takes 2 minutes at 1x, 1 minute at 2x and 8 minutes at 0.25x. You cannot cancel a running export. Audio plays aloud unless you mute it. Keep the tab in front, because browsers slow down hidden tabs.
The file is WebM, or MP4 when the browser records MP4, at 30 frames per second. The sizes are fixed: 1080 × 1920 for 9:16, 1080 × 1350 for 4:5 and 1920 × 1080 for 16:9. The square 1:1 uses the longer side of the video, at least 1080 pixels. A small source is scaled up. Filters, rotation and flipping apply to the main picture only, not to the blurred background.
Your video stays in the tab
The browser reads the file from your disk and draws it onto a canvas. Pressing export sends no request, as the network panel of your developer tools will show.
